A brand new Solo Ansamblis album. The Lithuanian group returns (somewhat unexpectedly) with a new album that showcases what they do best: haunting us. Dark yet graceful as always, the record starts with one of my favorite opening tracks I’ve heard in a long time. I can't even say that the three tracks pre-released as singles (Šermukšnis, Švelnus Jausmai, Meilės Mašina) stood out above the others. Oda, Tendencija, Parke, and Nuobodu all struck me as some of their best work yet. The instrumentals on Parke are particularly remarkable, and I continue to applaud smaller bands like Solo Ansamblis for being the most willing to experiment with new sounds and challenge the mainstream. There is really nothing quite like their 'sad dance' sound.
