Free Finga

I struggle to find an artist to compare Free Finga to. He is truly not like any other artist I know of. Perhaps the closest thing would be a Lithuanian version of some mix of James Blake and AQUIHAYAQUIHAY. He operates on a level of charm so obnoxious it is only known to swaggy boy bands - sprinkled with touches of true rapper-like nonchalantness. Existing between R&B, indie, pop, and alternative, Free Finga creates atmospheres - sometimes dim-lit and moody, other times robust and energetic. He is the definition of a young, smaller (though big by Lithuanian standards) artist being empowered to carve out his own path. This comes through especially in the small details of his production. Barking? Let’s add it. Crickets? Why not. Using anime clips for adlibs? Yes! Free Finga is bold, innovative, and unbelievably clean in both his writing and delivery. Not to mention, the guy has a killer voice. It is youthful but raspy enough to help create moody atmospheres in his music. His two most recent LPs, DĖMESIO (2021) and Plastika (2024) put his genre acrobatics on display - while the former is hot and hype, the latter is dynamic and balanced. You can’t go wrong between the two. Overall, you can count on Free Finga to keep you guessing as he finds new ways to make something that feels unpredictable, original, and fresh as hell.
